Term 2- week 3

I am struggling this week with the lack of connection to students, I feel unmotivated, as i recognise that i am sitting in an office connected to my akonga by a screen. I keep making resources that i think might engage the students.   We have a long weekend and then a teacher only day I attend the online tutorials and discoverer a couple of new tips.

I don't feel like i gain any huge advantage - but good to know that I am on top of the how to use most of the tools for online learning.

This week i am still finding that l spend ages working on and  perfecting my new resources, getting all the right pictures!  I also learn how to control the people in the google meets and plan a fixed timetable for week 4 onwards. The students will now have the meets in designated class time.

So I achieve stuff and when I talk with other teachers I discover we are all feeling much the same. It's good to connect with others. 

 I get the most joy this week from my meet with my from class 9 Nock. There are engaging  nicely during meets compared with all of my senior classes. 

The tell jokes and laugh, it good to connect with kids again! Every so often I post up a challenge for them to do - this time its a ISO challenge - trick shot! Idea borrowed from Taipa Area School.Hope to have some fun stuff - for them to look at and do. 

Being a 'short week' its over before it began really. I haven't really changed much about the delivery of content and it bothers me that the students are not reading the instructions. Lots of students do not understand the cooking at home tasks. These are optional but any work they do can be used - how to get it across to them to do anything! They seem to want a rigid structure, and then others are upset as they cant do any cooking. I think about ways to set up the tasks so they can record any evidence easily.

I try to make a new banner for ggogle classroom - I can't make it work GRRRRR!
